Level 3 Performing Arts Qualification in Musical Theatre / Acting
We offer two Performing Arts courses at Level 3 – Musical Theatre Foundation Course and Acting Foundation Course. Both programmes prepare students with the technical skills and performance training to access degree and higher level vocational courses. There is a free training option which combines your BTEC Level 3 Diploma with our technical training programme. In addition, students can choose to top-up their training hours with our Audition Preparation package.
In year one, students attending Stageworks will arrive with a variety of talent. Some may have a higher skill set in dancing or acting but have little singing experience or vice versa.
Our objective is to build on existing skills and introduce, develop and expand the areas that students have less experience in.
The Musical Theatre or Acting course classes will consist of core performing arts subjects and a syllabus that will earn students nationally recognised qualifications.
Musical Theatre Dance
Technical Study in Dance & Drama
Monologues & Text Study
Stageworks also offer an additional package of classes that includes a weekly 30 minute private singing lesson and fitness, strength and stamina classes. This would take you up to 25 hours of training per week. Should you not be local we have accommodation facilities available that are in walking distance from the College (potential funding support option available).
Our class sizes are kept to a minimum so that we can give you the attention you need to flourish and build on your skills over the two years you are with us. This also gives you the opportunity to play both lead and ensemble roles.
As part of the course, all students can perform in a full musical production staged by ‘The Musical Theatre Company’, which boasts the highest standard of amateur Musical Theatre performance. Weekly rehearsals boost training whilst giving you a very similar experience to those in the West End, with a live orchestra and professional set and costumes. Previous productions include Kipps – Half a Sixpence, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, 42nd Street, Ghost, Grease, Footloose and Guys and Dolls. We believe everyone should be given a chance to take centre stage.
3 YEAR PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE COURSE
Our three-year Professional Performance Course offers full-time specialist training in singing, dancing and acting to prepare you for a career in the performing arts industry.
We will provide 35 hours of training per week, covering a multitude of areas including:

In addition to providing high quality and affordable training, you will also train as part of a small class and perform as part of our Company. Each year group is no bigger than 30 students as we believe feedback and individual attention is crucial to your development and find it difficult to justify the purpose of large class numbers.
As well as being taught by our in-house specialist team of tutors and professional experts, you will also attend regular workshops and mock auditions hosted by visiting choreographers, MD’s, performers and employers. This means that not only will you be learning from the best, but you will also have the opportunity to make a good impression and build a network of industry contacts.
On top of their training, students also receive agency representation and additional classes on account management, self-marketing and promotion as well as continued career advice. As an additional option students can also look to take a teaching qualification (at an extra cost). This will be completed towards the end of the course and open up another pathway to you upon graduation.
About Stageworks Studios Ltd
At Stageworks, we are proud to offer full-time, professional training for students aged 16-21 who are passionate about performing. We offer four full time courses – Musical Theatre, Acting, and Professional Performance. All students train five days a week and are taught by leading industry experts. Each year group is a maximum of 40 students which allows for key one-to-one contact time and continued professional and pastoral support throughout the course.
Our students have the opportunity to take part in full productions with professional set and costumes, which gives them the necessary experience on a professional stage. Our purpose-built studios are easily accessible from Cambridge, Peterborough, Bedford, Huntingdon, Biggleswade, Stevenage and Stamford and we can also provide accommodation for students who are moving away from home.
Our courses have a 100% success rate, and our graduates are now performing around the world and in the West End, as well as undertaking further training in establishments such as Mountview, GSA, Bird College and The Urdang Academy.
