In the UK the accounting and auditing industry revenue in the year 2020-21 was £5.3 billion offering 47,275 jobs within the industry? It was one of the few Covid-proof jobs!
There are over 43,000 accountancy firms in the UK, providing hundreds of thousands of job opportunities. Azets are the 9th largest accountancy firm in the UK, hiring over 450 apprentices every year into over 70 offices.
You could start earning over £35,000 per year, within 7 years of completing your GCSE’s or A-levels, as a professionally qualified accountant?

Great – now, we’ve got your attention! Not many students know about careers in accounting or what accountancy apprenticeship or graduates roles are on offer. All you perhaps think about is that it involves Maths and numbers. Don’t let the numbers put you off, come along and gain a better understanding at our Insight-into-Accountancy

work in  – Audit, Accounts, Tax, Forensic Accounting, Payroll, Corporate Finance. They will share their inspiring stories, what motivated them to go into accounting and how they are making a difference in their workplace.

This session will give you an opportunity to hear from a range of employees from Azets and we will have practical tasks to help you understand the industry.

We hope you will leave this session with a truly financial mindset and you will realise that it’s not just about Maths when it comes to being an accountant.

About Speakers for Schools (Azets)

Having access to leading figures disrupts this pattern and allows state school students to engage with influential people who can share inspiration on pursuing their ambitions and broaden their horizons. That’s why we specifically reach state schools, academies and colleges that have students affected by area deprivation, disadvantage and lack of networks. We’re here to connect the dots and shake up the current system to change the status quo. Our aspirational engagements, put young people in touch with the very best, to spark their ambitions and the belief in what is possible for the future. Speakers for Schools brings together eminent figures of today, from FTSE 100s and arts leaders to CEOs and tenured professors, creating a dynamic network of thousands of school talks and esteemed work experience placements – all for free. So far, we have reached over 1,000,000 students nationwide through our school talks and work experience programme. Speakers for Schools facilitates over 2,500 engagements and placements a year, having reached over a third of all secondary schools and colleges across the UK. Founded by Robert Peston and chaired by Andrew Law with a board of trustees, it is funded by the Law Family Charitable Foundation.
